Day Two (Wednesday, August 12, 2026) of the 2026 MACE Summer Conference is officially underway, and the energy is unmatched! We are incredibly honored to welcome Rich Truitt, Senior Technical Trainer from the International Code Council to the stage today. Day 3 (Thursday, August 13. 2026) of the MACE Conference shifts focus to critical building safety, compliance, and accessibility standards. The Mississippi Association of Code Enforcement is proud to welcome today’s featured instructor, Kimberly Paarlberg, Senior Staff Architect for Codes and Standards Development at the [International Code Council (ICC)](1.2.1, 1.4.1).
As a highly respected authority in technical services, Ms. Paarlberg serves as the code development secretariat for the IBC Means of Egress/Accessibility committees. She plays a pivotal role as the ICC representative for the national accessibility standard, [ICC A117.1](1.2.1, 1.4.1).
In today's intensive sessions, attendees will gain master-level insights into complex scoping provisions, building code interpretations, and life-safety strategies designed to protect and elevate local communities.
